Visiting Bangui and the Windmills Farm

Bangui is recognized as a fourth class town in the province of Ilocos Norte in Philippines. According to the recent census, this town has a population of about 14,634 people in 3,055 households. Bangui is subdivided in 31 different barangays. However, what is impressive about this town is the fact that it owns the first power generating windmill farm in the Philippines.
The Bangui Wind Mills were developed by the NorthWind Power Development Corporation to acquire it share in decreasing the emission of damaging greenhouse gases (GHGs) that causes global warming and to increase the rural electrification of the government. In this region, the wind generally comes from the northeast, from the sea moving to the sand. To maximize the complete benefit of the winds, apparatus are set up along the shore facing the sea efficiently eliminating windbreaks as well as achieving a domain roughness of zero classification.
Bangui’s “Windmill Farm” as it is approximately called consists of 15 wind apparatus. These apparatus or also known as Wind Mills here are on the shore and arrange in a single row spaced 326 meters distant. The apparatus hub height is 70 meter high, each blades is about 41 meters long giving a rotor diameter of 82 meters and a windswept area of 5, 281 square meters.

Several tourists here are enjoying the beautiful place as well as the fine beaches surrounding the whole area.
